"No Machines Found" - one possible solution

Apr 29, 2014 at 4:22 PM
Used SQL Powerdoc successfully at my last job. Ran it at my new job and 4 out of 9 servers got the "No Machines Found Error". One common factor on all 4 machines was that SQL Configuration manager would fail to load and give a "Cannot connect to WMI provider..." error. Run the following in a CMD window (as administrator) and it will fix both:

mofcomp "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\100\Shared\sqlmgmproviderxpsp2up.mof".
